Principal Analog Design Research Engineer (m/f/d)
Huawei's Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.
We are a small but motivated & aspired Analog Mixed Signal group, within a research laboratory of a Corporate Research House. We focus mainly on high speed communications and analog interfaces. We are in search of an experienced and innovative analog design researcher.

Principal Analog Design Research Engineer (m/f/d)
Your mission
- Spearhead the development of advanced analog circuits for high-speed SerDes and related interfaces, including but not limited to ADCs, DACs, PLLs, CTLEs, and amplifiers
- Define and optimize system-level architectures for high-speed serial interfaces, ensuring power, performance, and area (PPA) targets are met across the entire design
- Develop innovative, cutting-edge solutions to solve complex analog design challenges for high-speed communication systems, focusing on signal integrity, noise reduction, and minimizing jitter
- Perform detailed analog circuit design, simulation, and analysis using industry-standard tools. Ensure designs meet specifications for performance, power consumption, and manufacturability
- Work closely with digital design teams, systems engineers, and physical design engineers to ensure seamless integration of analog and digital components
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and researchers Lead design reviews, technical discussions, and collaborate effectively across departments
- Lead the validation of prototypes, test chip design, and characterization to ensure all performance targets are met
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in high-speed analog design and contribute to the research community through publications, patents, and white papers
Your areas of expertise
- PhD degree or Master in Electronical/Electronics Engineering or related field
- Several years of hands-on experience in analog design and high-speed interface development, particularly in Ethernet/SerDes/DDR, ADC/DAC, PLL, CTLE, and amplifiers
- Expert knowledge of high-speed analog design techniques and methodologies
- Strong hands-on experience with ADC, DAC, PLL, CTLE, and high-speed amplifiers
- In-depth understanding of Ethernet/SerDes/DDR architecture, including channel equalization and clock/data recovery
- Experience in signal integrity and jitter analysis
- Expertise with industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., Spice, Matlab) and verification techniques
- Experience in mixed-signal circuit design and system-level integration.
- Familiarity with SiGe, CMOS, or BiCMOS technologies for high-speed analog circuit design
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Fluent in written and spoken Englis
- Excellent intercultural communication skills as well as professional leadership. Will have to work in a multicultural and multiparter working experience
- Ability to work effectively in a team and lead design efforts as well
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Some travelling will be needed as a part of the job
