Huawei Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design, and strategic engineering of our products.
We are the Cellular Baseband Architecture Team at the Munich Research Center. As we continue to grow with our ongoing business success and strong partnerships, we are always eager to welcome new talents to join us.
We are a small but highly motivated team of application-specific processor architects, building the baseband communication processor core architecture for next-generation products. Our focus is primarily on high-performance and high-efficiency accelerator core micro-architecture design. We are seeking an experienced and motivated PhD candidate who is ready to think outside the box and develop innovative new ASIP architectures for the next-generation cellular baseband processor.

Job Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Architecture, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of computer architectures and architecture modeling (e.g., Gem5, SystemC, HDLs) and their physical implementation implications.
- Proven project experience in processor design and implementation. Knowledge of VLIW and experience with ASIP design tools is a significant advantage.
- Solid understanding of computer systems, including SoC interconnects, memories, compilers, and C/Assembly programming.
- Hands-on experience with highly efficient programming in Assembly, C, Python, and Verilog/VHDL/Chisel.
- Proficiency in working in a GNU/Linux environment without IDEs, with the ability to rapidly integrate open-source projects. Familiarity with Git version control and open-source software/hardware build flows.
- Excellent intercultural communication skills and professional leadership capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multi-partner environment.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the latest industrial and academic processor architectures, evaluating their trade-offs in power, performance, and area.
- Conduct micro-architecture modeling for quantitative performance benchmarking.
- Innovate and design methodologies to optimize micro-architecture for specific applications.
