Senior Researcher: Disaggregated Datacenter Network Virtualization (m/f/d)

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious team member to join our research team focused on network virtualization for disaggregated datacenter infrastructures. This is an excellent opportunity for recent PhD graduates or postdoctoral researchers who are passionate about cloud-scale computing, systems architecture, and cutting-edge virtualization technologies.

Your mission

• Conduct research on next-generation network virtualization techniques that enable scalable, elastic interconnects across disaggregated compute, memory, and storage components.
• Design and prototype experimental disaggregated network virtualization frameworks for serverless and cloud-native environments.
• Contribute to technical publications, patents, and open-source projects.
• Collaborate with senior researchers, engineers, and academic partners on high-impact research topics.

Your areas of expertise

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a focus in computer architecture, networking, or virtualization.
• Solid understanding and academic experience in one or more of the following:
• Datacenter networks, software-defined networking (SDN)
• Virtualization technologies such as VirtIO, OVS, KVM/Qemu
• High-performance IO (e.g., RDMA, DPDK, SmartNICs)
• TCP/IP protocol stack and system-level programming
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-driven environment.
• Demonstrated potential through research publications, open-source contributions, or project experience.
• Familiarity with CXL, PCIe-based disaggregation, or Ultra Ethernet concepts is a plus.
