Huawei’s Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technical research, architecture evolution design and strategic technical planning.
The Optical Technology Laboratory is part of the Huawei Munich Research Center. In our lab we aim at developing new digital signal processing algorithms for the next generation of fiber optical links. One important challenge is the design of efficient forward error correcting codes and decoding algorithms which need to operate at extremely high data rates. We are looking for a working student who is interested in assisting us in the code design.

Job Responsibilities:
- Developing tools to analyze and simulate new forward error correction codes.
- Design new forward error correcting codes/decoding algorithms.
- Performing simulations/tests of different codes/decoding algorithms.
Student Profile: The working student shall have:
- a solid background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- profound in knowledge of channel coding, information theory, or communication theory.
- good programming skills, preferably C/C++ and/or Python.
Job Location:
- The student will work at the Optical Technology Lab in the Huawei Munich Research Center.
- Upon interest there is also the possibility of a thesis.
Working Hours:
- Part Time from 12h to 20h a week
- Flexible working hours
