The Optical Technology Laboratory in Munich researches and develops signal processing, components and systems for fixed access, data center networks, metro and long-haul optical networks. The department engages in local research and collaborates with academic and industrial partners from the European ecosystem.

What You'll Do:
- Conduct innovative research in optical communication and DSP to advance technologies used in high-speed, high-capacity networks.
- Develop and test algorithms to improve the performance of optical systems and signal processing techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on exciting, large-scale projects.
- Contribute to publications and intellectual property generation, positioning yourself as a leader in the field.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging trends and advancements in optical and DSP technologies.
- Participate in academic conferences and collaborate with local academic institutes.
Who You Are:
We’re looking for a motivated and creative individual who is passionate about technology and excited to push the boundaries of research in optical communication. You should have a strong technical background in DSP and optics, but more importantly, you should have a curiosity for new technologies and a desire to make a difference.
Key Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Solid experience with optical communication systems, digital signal processing (DSP), or signal processing algorithms.
- Familiarity with mathematical modeling and simulation tools (such as MATLAB, Python, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams.
- A passion for continuous learning and innovation.
