Huawei's Vienna Research Center is responsible for advanced technical research, architecture evolution design and strategic technical planning.
The focus is the development of significantly improved magnetic materials and design solutions for magnetic components across the entire product portfolio, ranging from electronic components to magnetic sensors.

Magnetic Material Simulation Researcher (m/f/d) – Leased Labor (24 months)
Your mission
- Contribute to the development, characterization, and optimization of magnetic materials for advanced components using multiphysics simulation techniques
- Conduct and evaluate basic experimental measurements to improve material performance and validate designs
- Take technical and project management ownership of innovative research topics
- Work independently while maintaining a critical and precise approach to problem-solving and data analysis
- Collaborate with the team to design and produce prototypes and samples of magnetic materials for soft and hard magnetic applications
Your areas of expertise
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Physics, Computational Science, Material Science or another domain-related disciplines
- Basic understanding of magnetism and hands-on experience with micromagnetic simulations
- Proficiency in writing scripts in Python (e.g., for data analysis or automation)
- Strong analytical skills and a precise, critical approach to research and data evaluation
- A track record of solving complex technical challenges in a structured and systematic manner
- Familiarity with simulation tools, including Multiphysics FEM software (e.g., COMSOL Multiphysics or similar) and DEM software (e.g., EDEM or similar) would be a plus
- Familiarity with advanced characterization techniques for electric magnetic materials would be a plus
- Excellent knowledge of English, both written and verbal
