Legal Counsel
Your mission
- Legal support in various commercial matters relevant to Huawei Research & Development activities (R&D) in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
- The legal work will include: reviewing & negotiating various commercial contracts, such as supply of services agreements, procurement contracts (purchase of services or goods from multiple suppliers), research and development agreements (such as bilateral R&D agreements, e.g. technical cooperation agreements, technical licence agreement, joint development agreements, technical consulting agreements, technical testing agreements, NDAs as well as Statement of Work (SOW).
- Provide legal advice to HR Department and various business teams across the company
- Assist in localizing legal policies and support in compliance work
- Conduct trainings (e.g. anti-bribery, competition law, GDPR, trade secrets)
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws impacting R&D activities
Your areas of expertise
- German fully qualified lawyer (German 2nd Legal State-Examination or equivalent; Volljurist).
- Profound professional experience as Legal Counsel in a national/international technology company or as a lawyer in a law firm.
- Good knowledge of intellectual property law (protection, licensing, litigation, acquisition and divestment, etc.)
- Good knowledge of employment law and/or real estate issues
- Experience working with technical cooperation agreements with universities is a surplus
- Experience in the R&D and/or IT- and telecommunications industry is a surplus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (legal English) and German. Working language is English.
- Fluent in Chinese is a plus but not prerequisite.
- Excellent drafting, analytic and negotiation skills with a strong commercial sense and flexible hands-on approach.
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as positive attitude.
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines
- High attention to details, ability to handle a high volume of activities involving multiple and complex projects simultaneously
- Occasional short business travel required
- Work as part of the European legal team to identify issues of regional importance and provide solutions for Huawei research centers across Germany and EU.
- Keen to be challenged in a fast-paced, commercial environment with multinational staff.
