Research Engineer for Industrial IoT Networking (m/f/d)
Huawei's Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.
The Network 6.0 Department in Munich Research Center is extensively commenced in diverse research topics under the umbrella of “Industrial IoT and enterprise network communications”, including but not limited to deterministic networking, advanced scheduling, short range wireless communication and data center network technologies. The goal is to research and expedite the adoption of disruptive technologies into the industrial and enterprise environments, making Industry IoT a reality.

Research Engineer for Industrial IoT Networking
Your mission
- Involve in researching and developing networking and communication technologies
- Design and develop proof of concepts and demonstrators in various verticals including smart manufacturing, process automation, smart building, smart grid, etc.
- Contribute to the standards draft, technical publication and white papers
- Engaging with industrial partners for potential collaboration and joint innovation
- Attend top-tier conferences, industrial fairs and events to explore potential business cases and networking requirements
Your areas of expertise
- PhD degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
- Solid background in industrial networking protocols and technologies (e.g. Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, etc.)
- Experience in physical and data link layer technologies (e.g. Single Pair Ethernet)
- Team player
- Familiarity with various industrial verticals including smart manufacturing, transportation, smart grid, smart city, etc.
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
- Familiar with AI networking is a plus
- Relevant marketing and business development experience is a plus
