Huawei Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.
The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within Huawei’s Ohms Research Center in Nuremberg is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Industrial Designer / Product Design Engineer – EV Charging & Energy Storage Products (m/f/d)
Your mission
You will design the next generation of Huawei Digital Power products, including EV charging dispensers, energy storage enclosures, and inverter/converter housings. You will work from early concepts to 3D models, CMF proposals, prototypes, supplier feedback, and production-ready design solutions. You will work closely with mechanical, thermal, electronics, and product teams to balance appearance, usability, manufacturability, cost, and technical performance.
Create product concepts, sketches, 3D models, renderings, and CMF proposals.
Design enclosures for EV chargers, BESS systems, inverters, and power electronics products.
Work with engineers on thermal design, airflow, HMI layout, cable routing, seams, serviceability, and manufacturing constraints.
Prepare design guidelines, surface treatment proposals, and supplier-ready design documentation.
Support prototypes, design reviews, supplier discussions, and product launch preparation.
Your areas of expertise
Degree in industrial design, product design, transportation design, mechanical design, or similar.
3+ years of experience in industrial/product design.
Strong skills in Rhino, Alias, SolidWorks, Creo, KeyShot, Adobe tools, or similar.
Strong portfolio showing sketches, 3D modeling, rendering, CMF, and product development process.
Understanding of manufacturability, materials, surface treatment, and technical product design.
Experience with EV charging, BESS, power electronics, outdoor equipment, automotive, or consumer electronics is a plus.
