Huawei Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.
The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within Huawei’s Ohms Research Center in Nuremberg is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Your mission
Cutting-Edge Research & Innovative Design
Lead end-to-end industrial design of EV charging dispensers, integrating brand aesthetics with human-centric interfaces and advanced material innovations.
Develop modular energy storage enclosures that balance thermal performance with customizable visual identity for residential/commercial applications.
Create compact, unified enclosures for inverters/converters featuring optimized thermal management and cohesive product family design language.
End-to-End Design Execution
Full-Cycle Design Leadership: Oversee the complete design process from concept sketches to mass production (brainstorming → 2D rendering → 3D modeling → CMF definition). Utilize Alias/Rhino/Keyshot to produce high-fidelity models and photorealistic renderings
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Partner with mechanical engineers to refine curved surface segmentation and seam treatment techniques. Coordinate with electronics teams to plan HMI layouts and cable routing for aesthetic-functional synergy
Design Assets & Intellectual Property: Establish and maintain corporate design standards (design guidelines, CMF libraries, surface treatment specifications). File design patents and utility patents to protect innovative designs. Submit entries for prestigious design awards to enhance product recognition
Trend Research & Design Innovation: Continuously monitor design trends in EV, smart devices, and consumer electronics sectors. Conduct regular design workshops to foster creative thinking. Pioneer sustainable design methodologies to reduce environmental impact
Your areas of expertise
Demonstrate expert proficiency in industrial design tools and material science to develop production-ready, manufacturable solutions for energy products.
Possess deep understanding of energy system architectures (EV charging/storage/inverters) to create designs that balance aesthetics, thermal management, and user ergonomics.
Show proven ability to translate emerging technologies (smart surfaces/advanced composites) into patented designs while mentoring cross-functional teams on design thinking methodologies.
5+ years of industrial design experience in energy-related products (EV charging systems, battery enclosures, or power electronics), with a proven portfolio of mass-produced designs.
3+ complete product life-cycle engagements from concept to production, including DFM collaboration with engineering teams and CMF specification development.
Demonstrated success in patent filings (2+ design/utility patents) and/or award-winning designs in the energy or automotive sectors.
