Huawei's Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.
The Huawei Automotive Electric Control Technology Laboratory will play an important role in the Huawei Digital Power Business Unit in the advanced electric drive control, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of automotive applications such as drivetrain, DC-AC inverter and fusion driving component, advanced AI/cloud technology, etc. As an employee you will be part of the HUAWEI Automotive R&D Competence Center in Nuremberg.

Senior/Principal Engineer - Vehicle Motion & Chassis Control Software Developer (m/f/d)
Your mission
Act as technical authority for Vehicle Motion and Chassis Control Systems, shaping next-generation chassis, steering, and active dynamics architectures.
Own the end-to-end control and software solution for chassis, braking, steering, and active systems within the vehicle E/E architecture.
Lead the development of advanced control algorithms for ABS, ESC, Traction Control, active chassis, and steering systems.
Implement Software Algorithms and verify solutions in rapid prototyping platforms.
Define and manage software and system requirements, ensuring clear functional decomposition and traceability to vehicle-level targets.
Drive cross-domain software integration across ECUs, ensuring functional safety compliance and release maturity.
Define scalable control concepts across platforms and ensure seamless integration with powertrain and vehicle networks.
Define and execute validation strategies from concept through SOP and oversee verification activities (SIL, HIL, vehicle testing).
Lead system-level problem solving and contribute to the motion control technology roadmap.
Mentor engineers and act as senior technical interface to key stakeholders.
Your areas of expertise
Master’s degree (or PhD) in Vehicle Control, or Mechatronics Engineering.
5+ years of experience in vehicle motion, chassis, or steering control for series production.
Strong expertise in vehicle dynamics algorithm development such as ESC Systems, active chassis or steering systems.
Proven experience in defining software and system requirements for safety-critical automotive systems.
Experience defining system and software architectures within modern E/E environments.
Background in cross-domain software integration and vehicle-level validation.
Proficiency in model-based development and automotive toolchains.
Solid knowledge of ISO 26262 and automotive development processes.
Proven ability to lead complex technical topics and influence product strategy.
Fluent English; German is a plus.
