The Huawei Automotive Electric Control Technology Laboratory develops advanced drivetrain and control algorithm for the next generation of electric vehicles. As an innovation hub at the intersection of research and industry, the lab focuses on creating highly efficient, power-dense, and intelligent mobility solutions. It's work combines cutting-edge simulation, multi-physics modeling, and experimental validation to address challenges in electromagnetic, thermal, structural, NVH, and system-level design and optimization. By integrating novel architectures and control strategies, the AECT lab aims to set new standards for performance, efficiency, and sustainability in future electric mobility.

PhD Student – Smart Actuators and Their Control (m/f/d)
Your mission
Investigate next-generation control architectures for smart actuators, focusing on the synergy between hardware capabilities and software intelligence
Design and implement sophisticated control strategies to enhance vehicle stability, safety, and passenger comfort
Build high-fidelity digital twins of mechatronic components and vehicle dynamics to conduct comprehensive virtual testing and optimization
Translate theoretical concepts into functional prototypes, conducting Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing and real-vehicle calibration to ensure production-ready performance
Synthesize research findings into high-quality technical reports and publications, contributing to the strategic R&D roadmap while fulfilling doctoral academic requirements
Your areas of expertise
A Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong foundation in control theory and an outstanding academic record
Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and chassis systems
Proven expertise in modern control theory and experience in implementing these on real-time embedded systems
High proficiency in vehicle mechatronics simulation environments
Solid knowledge of electric motor and e-motor control, sensor fusion, and the integration of smart sensors within mechatronic actuators
Strong coding skills in C/C++ and Python for algorithm development and data analysis
A research-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently in a corporate R&D environment and a passion for the future of software-defined vehicles
Full professional proficiency in English. You must be comfortable working, documenting technical research, and presenting complex ideas in a global team environment
Fluent in written and spoken German or Chinese (either language) would be a plus
