The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within Huawei’s Ohms Research Center in Nuremberg is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

R&D Associate - Leased Labor (18 months) (m/f/d)
to join our Institute's PV Team and play a pivotal role in project testing, laboratory management, and supporting our hardware development initiatives. This position is central to ensuring the operational excellence of our R&D infrastructure, building Proof-of-Concept setups, and providing critical hands-on support to accelerate our innovation cycle in PV power conversion technologies.
Your mission
- Execute project testing activities for the PV team, from planning and setup to data analysis.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, calibration, procurement, and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Drive the construction, commissioning, and maintenance of Proof-of-Concept systems to validate new technologies and concepts.
- Provide essential hardware development support, including prototyping, debugging, and validation testing for power electronics systems.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for test protocols and laboratory workflows.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers and researchers to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Analyze test data, identify trends, and compile comprehensive reports to guide engineering decisions.
Your areas of expertise
- You hold a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a related field of Engineering.
- Proven hands-on experience in a laboratory or R&D test environment, preferably within power electronics, photovoltaics, or a related industry.
- Strong capability in building and debugging hardware prototypes and Proof-of-Concept setups.
- Experience with laboratory management and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.
- A results-oriented, proactive mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese mandatory.
- Proficiency in German is advantageous.
