Intern — Electrical Measurement and Sensing
Huawei Heisenberg Research Center (Munich) is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.
As an intern in Electrical Measurement and Sensing, you will support a laboratory activity on precision impedance measurement and sensor characterisation. The role covers hands-on operation of benchtop instrumentation, construction of measurement fixtures, and the automation and analysis that turn raw readings into trustworthy results. Careful experimental practice, an understanding of parasitic effects in low-signal measurements, and the ability to program instrument control and data processing will be the key assets for driving this work.

Intern — Electrical Measurement and Sensing (m/f/d)
Your mission
Measurement
Set up and operate benchtop instrumentation for impedance and capacitance measurement, including calibration and compensation procedures.
Design and assemble measurement fixtures, covering wiring, grounding, shielding and mechanical mounting.
Data and automation
Automate instrument control and data acquisition over LAN or USB interfaces.
Process and visualise measurement data, and assess repeatability, noise floor and measurement uncertainty.
General responsibilities
Document set-ups, procedures and results so that measurements can be independently reproduced.
Report findings to the team and support the interpretation of results in the context of ongoing technical work.
Your areas of expertise
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's programme in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics or a comparable field.
Solid understanding of AC circuit fundamentals, including impedance, capacitance and equivalent circuit models.
At least one of the following: practical laboratory experience with oscilloscopes, signal generators or multimeters; experience with impedance or network analysis instrumentation; experience automating measurement equipment and processing data in Python. Skills in circuit design, PCB layout and component assembly, familiarity with instrument control protocols such as SCPI and with grounding and shielding practice, or experience with version control, are a plus.
Careful and methodical working style, comfortable repeating a measurement until the result is trustworthy.
Able to work both in a team and independently, with good communication skills.
Fluent English required.
