Huawei's Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.
The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Huawei Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Principal/Expert Engineer - Power Module Application and Definition (m/f/d)
Your mission
Define power module product specifications (IGBT, SiC MOSFET, GaN) for target segments including EV,PV, PCS and AI datacenter power, translating market trends and customer needs into clear PRD and technical roadmaps.
Lead application scheme definition and reference design strategy, driving system-level trade-off to maximize product competitiveness.
Pioneer next-generation power module concepts for emerging trends
Establish a power module application evaluation platform and address related issues in module applications, enabling the innovation and productization of advanced power modules.
Lead joint research initiatives with European universities and institutions in specialized research domains.
Your areas of expertise
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with focus in power electronic or power module.
Deep understanding of power module and power semiconductor
Experience with power converter design, power module developments and applications.
Power electronics and converter topologies for EV, PV, PCS or MVDC
Power module packaging technoliges and impact on parasitics, thermal resistance, and reliability,proficient in electrical design, chip selection, thermal design
System-level design methodology spanning electro-thermal co-simulation, lifetime modeling, isolation coordination, and cost-performance optimization
Deep understanding of IGBT/SiC MOSFET/GaN device physics, loss mechanisms, reliability physics, and gate drive/protection architectures.
Industry standards and certification schemes (AQG324, IEC 60747) for automotive and industrial power modules
Full product lifecycle experience from customer requirement definition through prototyping, qualification, and production ramp for power converters or power modules.
Proven track record of defining and launching power module products that achieved volume production in EV or renewable energy markets.
Simulation and modeling tools for multi-physics co-simulation.
