Audiovisual Technology Lab in Huawei Munich Research Center is developing innovative technologies in the field of acquisition, encoding and decoding, processing and presentation for the media field, including audio, video, image and graphics. Senior Engineer - Video Compression Research and International Standardization (m/f/d)

Your mission

• Research on innovative algorithms in the field of video compression

• Implement the innovative algorithms into the reference software, conduct comprehensive testing, including compression performance and complexity analysis

• Participate in international standardization

• Research on innovative algorithms in the field of artificial intelligent

• Generate patents, papers, technical reports

Your areas of expertise

• PhD or Master degree in electrical engineering, information technology, computer science, mathematics or physics.

• Deep interest in the topics related to video compression and artificial intelligence

• Proven record of scientific research achievement in video compression or/and artificial intelligent fields

• International standardization experience, submitted contributions to JVET/MPEG/VCEG and got some of them adopted

• Patents related to video or image coding

• Excellent knowledge of international video coding standards (at least HEVC and VVC)

• Working in a multi-national team and you like to collaborate with researchers to develop creative solutions

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

• Excellent software skills (C/C++, Python, Pytorch, Tensorflow, Matlab)
