Huawei's Kepler Research Center in Jena is responsible for advanced technology research and architectural development of optics-related products.
At the Kepler Research Center – Advanced Optics Lab we are now looking for a:
Camera Optical Design Researcher (m/f/d)
Your mission
Perform research and design work in the field of mobile phone imaging lenses and new optical architectures, solving key challenges through technological innovation, proposing new concepts and ideas and drafting patents;
Optical design of fixed focal lens, zoom lens, freeform optics, etc. Build a manufacturing-oriented optical design and simulation platform to realize system-level design and simulation applications. Perform tolerance analysis and straylight analysis;
Go from the analysis of the application requirements, through solution design and system simulation, up to proof of concept and prototyping, identify key challenges and lead the technical breakthrough efforts;
Deeply understand the background of business and tracking the advanced technologies in the relevant fields, gain insight into and explore new technologies and directions;
Extensive interaction and close collaboration with co-workers in the team and from other departments, combine with top industry resources to achieve the business objectives;
Participate in academic conferences, publish and present latest research achievements in leading conferences and/or journals, identify top resources and conduct cooperation.
Your areas of expertise
Proven experiences in designing and developing of camera optical systems
Strong theoretical knowledge in geometrical, diffractive and/or physical optics, applicants with a Ph.D. in optics-related fields are preferred.
Proficiency with optical design and simulation software. Programming skills are considered as a plus.
Excellent abilities in problem identification, analysis and solving, and systematic and goal-oriented work approach.
Fluent in English (written and oral) and open to cooperation and to work in a team with multiple cultural backgrounds collaboration
