Senior Research Engineer - Privacy Preserving AI (m/f/d)

Your mission

· Leveraging your expertise in AI and LLM, work closely with privacy professionals to conceptualize and engineer cutting-edge privacy-preserving AI solutions such as state-of-the-art generative AI models and LLM agent, which offer high utility and ensure that user data remains confidential and secure.

· Track the trends of AI technologies, including the latest advancements in Large Language Model (LLMs) and Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC), and analyze the impact and potential for privacy.

· Design, develop, (empirically) evaluate, and optimize proofs of concepts and software prototypes of related technologies for Huawei products.

· Improve state-of-the-art solutions and participate in the transfer of theoretic research concepts into cutting edge technologies for future Huawei products.

· Evaluate the practicability of Privacy Preserving AI Technologies for different scenarios in terms of functionality, utility, overhead, Security, Privacy, and risk.

· Work together with other teams and communicate results in conferences, workshops, and journals.

Your areas of expertise

· 2+ years of experience or a PhD in AI/Machine Learning or related field.

· Master in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline.

· Experience with AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI etc.

· Experience with Deep Learning frameworks like Tensorflow, Pytorch etc.

· Theoretical Knowhow and Hands-on experience in fine-tuning, alignment or deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) for a variety of applications, including NLP tasks, content generation, and privacy-preserving AI.

· Demonstrated skills of programming in Python, Java or other high-level languages.

· Knowledge with Privacy Enhancing Technologies is a plus.

· Knowledge or experience with AI agents, RAG, planning in agentic workflows, efficient on-device LLMs, is a plus.

· A strong publication record is a plus.

· Fluent written and spoken English.
