Chief & Senior Researcher - Battery simulation in Energy Storage System (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
In the field of Battery modeling your responsibilities include at least one of the following:
- Battery Pack performance simulations (charge/discharge, cycling), considering intrinsic cell-to-cell variations of SOC, capacity, resistance, temperature, swelling and capacity fading rates.
- Extending battery life involves charging and using optimization, which involves electrochemical models and machine learning
- Model-based framework for predicting nonlinear aging behavior of batteries
- Developing codes for battery simulations, considering trade-offs between accuracy and computational complexity for battery models.
• Participate in the battery simulation to replace experiments, saving majority of the product testing time and corresponding costs.
• You are in charge to provide insights into advanced electrochemical energy storage technologies and resource expansion
• Track the academic frontiers and research trends of electrochemical energy storage technologies in Europe, and help Huawei maintain the advancement of research
• Expand high-quality cooperation resources in Europe and help Huawei maintain long-term and good cooperation relationships with Universities
Requirements
• You pursue or hold a PhD degree in either energy-storage, material science, mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, vehicle engineering, control science and engineering, electrochemistry or in any related field
• Able to independently build the electrochemical or equivalent circuit model for batteries by writing codes and have strong programming skill
• High-level scientific papers by the first author on in the fields of battery models or battery management systems
• Have a good relationship with the top research groups in Europe
• Willing to travel internationally (including Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, France, UK, other European countries and China)
• Fluent in written and spoken English (working language). German/Chinese/French language skills are a plus. Good communication skills and multi-cultural environment adaptability.
Additional Requirements for Chief Researcher Only
- Profound experience in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) product development, familiar with residential battery energy storage system industry
- Ability to gain insight into the latest trends and exploit state of the battery technology for system applications (successful major contributions to product design experience for commercial companies or strong publications record)
- Willing to lead the local team and recruit more members for building our team
